Rooftop solar
Arrays on pitched, flat and metal roofs, sized to the hall's daytime demand.
Lower running costs for village halls, community centres, sports pavilions and community hubs, so hire fees stay affordable and the building keeps serving local people. We write proposals for your committee, help with grant applications and install around your bookings.
This page is for management committees, trustees, parish councils and community groups that run a hall, centre or pavilion. Rising energy bills feed straight into hire fees and eat into the reserves that keep the building maintained. Solar turns a large, simple roof into a way of protecting both.
Community buildings are often well suited to solar. They tend to have a good roof, daytime use from playgroups, cafes, classes and clubs, and an organisation committed to the building for decades. If your evenings are busy, a battery carries daytime generation into the night. If there is a car park beside the hall, a solar carport can generate more and charge the community’s cars.
We survey first, write our proposal in plain English, help with grant applications and install around your bookings. Afterwards, our monitoring and maintenance mean the committee never has to become the solar expert.

Yes. We plan surveys and installation days with your booking secretary and leave the site clean and safe for every hire.
Community funding routes change from year to year, so we do not promise specific grants. Our Funding Hub explains the routes, and your feasibility study provides the figures for your application.
If the hall is busy after dark, a battery stores daytime generation for that use. Your feasibility study shows whether it pays.
The structural survey answers that first. If the roof needs work, our roofing crew can do it under the same contract.
Our operations and maintenance team provides monitoring, planned maintenance and fault response so no volunteer has to.
Many rooftop systems on non-domestic buildings can be installed under permitted development, subject to conditions. Listed buildings, conservation areas, ground-mounted systems and solar carports may need consent. We check at survey and prepare the drawings for any application.
Yes, for eligible systems. Surplus generation is exported to the grid, and with an MCS-certified installation you can apply for Smart Export Guarantee payments from an SEG licensee. Rates vary by supplier, so your feasibility study sets out the export assumptions.
