Pure-water pole cleaning
Deionised water and soft heads on telescopic poles, from the ground or roof, leaving no residue.
Scheduled or one-off cleaning that removes the soiling that reduces generation, without chemicals or pressure washing. Trained technicians clean with pure water, pole-fed and mechanical systems and safe access, on commercial rooftops, carports, ground-mounts, public estates and homes, whoever installed the system.
This page is for anyone responsible for a solar array: facilities managers, estates teams, landlords, farmers and homeowners. UK rain cleans panels to a degree, but dust, pollen, bird droppings, moss, lichen and industrial or agricultural deposits still build up. This is especially true on low-pitch and flat-roof arrays, near trees, on farms and beside busy roads. Generation drops, and it is easy to miss until the monitoring shows it.
Mechanical cleaning feeds deionised pure water through telescopic poles with soft rotating or brush heads. It lifts soiling without chemicals or scratching, and leaves no residue to attract the next layer of dirt. It avoids the chemicals and pressure washing that can damage panels or put a manufacturer’s warranty at risk.
We plan safe access for every site, from ground-level pole work to roof access with edge protection. Each clean includes a visual inspection, so we can report loose fixings, damaged panels or nesting at the same time.
Deionised water and soft heads on telescopic poles, from the ground or roof, leaving no residue.
Rotating brush heads for larger commercial, carport and ground-mount arrays, where speed and efficiency matter.
Risk assessment, edge protection and access equipment planned for every site before we arrive.
A visual check for damaged panels, loose fixings, cable wear and nesting, reported after every clean.
Annual or seasonal cleaning, timed with planned maintenance visits and guided by monitoring data.
Mesh and deterrents fitted where nesting under panels is a recurring problem.
Cleaning removes the soiling that quietly reduces generation, and monitoring shows the difference.

Pure water onlyYour panels are cleaned by people who understand the electrical system and can spot faults.

It depends on pitch, location and surroundings. Many commercial and rural arrays benefit from an annual clean and some need more. Monitoring data tells us when output is dropping.
Not with the right method. We use deionised pure water and soft heads with no chemicals or pressure washing, which avoids scratching the glass or leaving residue.
Soiling reduces the light reaching the cells, so heavily soiled panels generate less. Low-pitch, shaded, rural and roadside arrays are most affected. Monitoring data and an inspection show whether soiling is affecting your output before you commit to a clean.
To a degree. Rain washes off some dust, but bird droppings, moss, lichen and agricultural or industrial deposits build up regardless, especially on low-pitch and flat-roof arrays where water does not run off quickly.
Visible dirt, droppings or moss on the panels, or a fall in generation that monitoring cannot explain by weather or faults. If you are unsure, an inspection visit will tell you.
