Avoid doing it twice
Removing and refitting solar panels to re-roof later adds significant cost on top of the re-roof itself.
One visit avoids paying twice.Roofing works that leave your building weathertight for the long term and ready to carry solar panels. Full re-roofs, targeted repairs, pest protection and pre-solar structural surveys, all carried out by our in-house roofing crew.
A solar PV system will sit on your roof for two decades or more, so the roof underneath needs to be sound before the panels go on. Our roofing crew carries out the survey and any repair or re-roof work, then hands over to the solar team ready to install. One party is accountable for the whole job.
If you are not planning solar, we also carry out standalone roofing work, from targeted slate replacement to full commercial flat-roof systems in EPDM, single-ply or felt. For warehouses, factories and other commercial premises, we plan the work around your operating hours and site access.
Every quote comes with a written survey report and photographs, so you know exactly what you’re paying for and why.
Fitting solar panels to a roof with 5 years of life left is a false economy. Here is why.

Rafter, purlin and truss integrity confirmed for the additional PV load (typically 15–20 kg/m²).
A modern breather membrane (Klober Permo, Tyvek) replaces old bitumen felt for better condensation control under the panels.
Brittle, cracked or slipped slates and tiles are replaced, and ridges and valleys re-dressed with dry-fix systems.
K2 or GSE anchor plates are fitted while the roof is stripped, giving a cleaner install than a retrofit.
Perimeter mesh is fitted at the panel edge to stop pigeons nesting under the panels, a common problem in the UK.

“A very professional and efficient organisation. The fitting schedule agreed when the quote was accepted was kept, and general workmanship was excellent, carried out by people who were polite, friendly and efficient. No complaints. I would recommend them to anyone considering a PV installation.”Donald, Birmingham · Solar PV installation, via Solar Guide

Still have a question?0330 043 1047Not always. If your roof has 20+ years of life left and is structurally sound, solar can go straight on. Our surveyor will give you an honest view during the free assessment. Many homes need no roof work at all before solar panels are fitted.
A typical UK domestic re-roof takes 3 to 7 days, depending on size, roof pitch and weather. Commercial jobs are programmed per site; the expected time on site is set out in your programme before work starts. We confirm the programme in your quotation.
Yes. Our roofing crew takes on standalone work every week, from targeted slate repairs to full residential and commercial re-roofs. You don’t need to be a solar customer.
Our workmanship warranty covers both full re-roofs and targeted repairs, with the terms set out in your quotation. Manufacturers’ material warranties (slate, membrane, EPDM) sit on top of that and typically run for 25–40 years, depending on the product.
It’s a very common UK problem. We fit stainless steel bird mesh around the perimeter of the array on every solar-ready re-roof, and offer retrofit mesh for existing installs where pigeons have already moved in.
Yes. Scaffolding, safety netting, the skip and site protection are all included in the fixed-price quote, so there are no surprise invoices later.
Yes. We plan commercial roofing around your operating hours, tenants and site access, as we do for our solar installations, and the roof is made watertight at the end of each working day.
It depends on the structure, the covering and its remaining life. Our pre-solar structural survey checks the purlins, rafters or trusses and the roof covering, and if strengthening or a re-cover is needed, our roofing crew carries it out under the same contract as the solar installation.
A free structural survey and an honest report, with no pressure to fit solar afterwards.
