Charge from solar
Zappi and EO Genius chargers send surplus solar to your car instead of exporting it at SEG rates.
Solar diversion to your carSmart, solar-linked chargers for your home, workplace chargers for businesses and load-managed depot charging for fleet operators. All installed by our own NICEIC-approved electricians, and we are an OZEV approved installer.
A home EV charger looks simple until you account for load management, your main fuse rating, cable routing, PEN fault protection and how it will work with solar or a battery. We design and install every charger as part of your electrical system, not as a wall-mounted accessory on a fused spur.
For businesses, we cover everything from a single workplace charger to multi-bay, OZEV-eligible charging with dynamic load balancing, back-office reporting, RFID access control and payment integration where required.
Every installation includes DNO notification where required and appropriate RCD protection. If you have solar or a battery, we set the charger up so your car can charge from surplus solar, or on cheaper overnight rates.
A well-installed charger gives years of reliable service. A poorly installed one can create safety and insurance problems.

Still have a question?0330 043 1047The cost of a 7 kW home installation depends on the cable run, the condition of your consumer unit and the charger you choose. We survey first and give you a fixed price, with no extras added after installation.
Not for owner-occupied houses. That scheme closed in 2022. OZEV grants are still available for people living in flats (EV Chargepoint Grant), landlords (Residential Landlord Grant) and businesses (Workplace Charging Scheme & EV Infrastructure grant). We check eligibility as part of every quote.
Yes. Zappi and EO Genius chargers have solar-diversion modes (Eco, Fast and Full) that use only surplus solar or a mix of solar and grid. Ohme takes a different approach, timing your charge to the cheapest time-of-use tariff windows. We recommend the right option for your home.
Yes, from single workplace bays to multi-bay depots with dynamic load balancing, RFID access control and back-office reporting. On constrained depots we can often avoid a DNO supply upgrade by using intelligent DLM.
Most UK homes have a 60 A or 80 A main fuse, which is usually fine for 7 kW charging on its own. If an electric shower, hob or heat pump might run at the same time, we fit a CT clamp so the charger slows down automatically, which usually avoids a supply upgrade. We check your supply at survey.
Yes. Home chargers are normally notified to your network operator (DNO) through the Energy Networks Association process, and we submit this for you. Larger or multi-bay installations may need the DNO to approve the connection before work starts, and we handle that application from start to finish.
Yes. We regularly install chargers as part of a solar and battery system, and set up the charger and battery to work together, so the car takes surplus solar first and cheaper overnight electricity after that.
No. The current 0% VAT relief on energy-saving materials covers solar panels, heat pumps and battery storage installed in homes, but not EV chargers. Your quotation shows the VAT that applies.
