Solar self-consumption
Use your daytime solar generation in the evening instead of exporting it and buying electricity back at peak rates.
Typical uplift: +15-30% of PV value.Store surplus solar generation and use it in the evening instead of buying from the grid, charge on cheaper off-peak rates and, with the right set-up, keep power on during a cut. Our MCS-certified UK team designs, installs and supports every battery.
A battery is only as good as the design behind it. We size every system around your half-hourly usage, any solar you already generate and your electricity tariff, so the figures in your proposal reflect your home rather than a generic estimate.
From a 5-15 kWh Tesla Powerwall at home to a commercial 100+ kWh cabinet for peak-shaving, we install battery storage as part of your property’s whole energy system, not as a separate product added to whatever you already have.
Every installation is MCS-registered and covered by RECC, and the battery can work with smart tariffs such as Octopus Flux, Agile, Cosy or Intelligent Octopus Go from the first day.
A battery can contribute in several ways at once. We design for the ones that apply to your property.
Use your daytime solar generation in the evening instead of exporting it and buying electricity back at peak rates.
Typical uplift: +15-30% of PV value.Charge overnight on an off-peak tariff such as Intelligent Octopus Go, then use the stored energy at peak times.
Use cheaper stored energy at peak times. With a backup gateway, the battery can keep your home or selected circuits running during a power cut.
Auto changeover in under 20 ms.Reduce peak-demand DUoS and capacity charges on commercial sites with half-hourly settled meters.
Cuts costly demand peaks. From adding a battery to one home to commercial peak-shaving cabinets, one team is accountable for the whole installation.
5-20 kWh systems, wall- or floor-mounted, working with your existing solar panels or a new system.
30-500 kWh cabinets for peak-shaving, tariff arbitrage and backup.
Works with your existing PV inverter (AC-coupled) or as part of a new solar-plus-battery design (DC-coupled hybrid).
We programme your battery for tariffs such as Octopus Flux, Agile, Cosy, Intelligent Octopus Go and EDF GoElectric.
Five components make the difference between a battery that earns its place and one that sits idle.

LFP chemistry (Tesla Powerwall 3, Sigenergy, Fox ESS), which is generally considered more stable than NMC and offers a longer cycle life.
A hybrid inverter for a new solar and battery system (one unit for both), or an AC-coupled inverter when adding a battery to existing solar.
An automatic transfer switch that islands the whole home or partial loads when the grid goes down.
Real-time monitoring of import, export and self-consumption, which feeds the battery’s tariff scheduling.
Works with your chosen time-of-use tariff, so the battery can charge when electricity is cheaper and discharge when it is more expensive.
These are the batteries, hybrid stacks and DC charging modules we specify most often for UK homes, businesses and forecourts. Our own MCS-certified team installs and commissions each one.
A whole-home energy hub for solar, battery and EV charging, with one dashboard and one tariff scheduler.
A wall-mounted, retrofit-friendly home battery, sized at 5-15 kWh to cover the UK evening peak.
An all-in-one hybrid inverter and stackable battery, with up to 40 kWh for larger homes and light commercial use.
A modular commercial battery for SMEs and industrial rooftops, suited to peak-shaving and Scope 2 evidence.
A high-output commercial unit for reducing demand charges and serving multi-tenant estates.
Containerised C&I storage for developers, councils and asset owners, ready for front-of-meter use.
A DC fast-charging module for workplace forecourts: one dispenser, three vehicles charging at once.
A compact DC charging pod for two-bay commercial car parks and destination charging.
The same technology, with a different case in each type of property.
Cover the evening peak with solar generation stored earlier, and buy overnight electricity at around 7p/kWh on a suitable tariff.
Reduce peak DUoS and capacity charges, and shave peak demand on half-hourly settled meters.
Meet the Future Homes Standard uplift with battery-ready hybrid inverters on new-build plots.
Add resilience to leisure centres, schools and community buildings, and free up grid headroom for EV charging.

“Synergy Power gave me a quote for battery storage and were very good at giving me all the information about the different companies supplying batteries… The system was installed by Ross, who was good, completed the job in good time and left it working, explaining how it all works.”Ramesh, Solihull · Battery storage, via Solar Guide

Still have a question?0330 043 1047Not necessarily. A battery on its own can still pay its way by shifting your usage to off-peak tariffs such as Octopus Go (around 7p/kWh overnight, compared with price-cap peak rates). Solar and a battery together usually work best, but a battery alone makes sense for many UK homes.
It depends on your daily consumption, the size of your solar system and your tariff. For many UK homes on Octopus Flux, 10-13.5 kWh is a common size. Our design team works it out from your half-hourly meter data as part of the free assessment.
Many modern batteries can, with the right equipment. Tesla Powerwall 3 and Sigenergy (with the Sigenergy Gateway) both offer whole-home backup with automatic changeover, quoted at under 20 milliseconds, when the grid drops. Tell us if backup matters to you and we will design for it.
Time-of-use tariffs such as Octopus Flux (import and export), Cosy Octopus (three cheaper windows), Intelligent Octopus Go (around 7p overnight for EV owners) and EDF GoElectric. You switch tariff with your energy supplier yourself, and as an Octopus Energy Trusted Partner we can give you the information you need.
Currently, yes, for homes in Great Britain. Under HMRC's energy-saving materials relief, battery storage installed in residential accommodation is zero-rated until 31 March 2027, whether it is fitted with new solar or added to an existing system.
LFP batteries such as Powerwall 3 and Sigenergy are designed for a long cycle life. Warranties typically run for 10-12 years with 70-80% capacity retention; we confirm the terms for your chosen battery in your quotation.
Usually, yes. We can add a battery to most existing solar systems, including ones we did not install, using an AC-coupled or hybrid inverter. We check compatibility at survey.
Smaller systems are usually connected and then notified to your Distribution Network Operator under G98. Larger systems need a G99 application approved before connection. Whether and how a battery counts towards those limits depends on the equipment, so we confirm it at design stage and handle the paperwork.
We set up the manufacturer’s monitoring app at handover, so you can see charge level, solar generation, import and export on your phone, and we show you how to adjust the schedule.
