01. Who this page is for

One home energy system,
not four separate gadgets.

This page is for UK homeowners who want to pay less for electricity, rely less on the grid and prepare their home for electric heating, an electric car and time-of-use tariffs.

Solar panels generate electricity during the day. A battery stores what you do not use, so you can run the house from it in the evening and top it up on cheaper overnight rates. An EV charger puts that energy into your car. A smart tariff sets when the system imports, stores and exports. Designed together, the four work far better than any one of them on its own.

The same in-house team designs your system, installs it, deals with the paperwork and maintains it afterwards. Anything you install now is planned so that a battery, charger or heat pump can be added later without starting again.

02. How it works together

Generate. Store. Charge.
Optimise.

Start with the part that matters most to you and add the rest when you are ready. Every system we design leaves room for the next step.

Step 1 · Generate

Solar PV

Panels on your roof generate electricity through the day, reducing what you buy from the grid.

Step 2 · Store

Battery storage

Surplus daytime generation is stored for the evening, and the battery can also charge on cheaper overnight rates.

Step 3 · Charge

EV charging

A solar-linked home charger sends surplus generation into your car rather than exporting it to the grid.

Step 4 · Optimise

Smart tariffs

A smart import and export tariff tells the system when to buy, when to store and when to export.

03. Residential services

Everything your home needs,
from one team.

Six home energy services from one accountable installer. Each has its own page with the full detail.

04. Why Synergy Power

Engineering standards,
applied to your home.

We apply the same standards on your roof that we apply on council buildings and commercial rooftops.

05. How it works

From feasibility study
to switch-on.

A straightforward five-step process. You will always know what happens next, and there is no obligation until you sign.

Step 01

Free feasibility study

Tell us about your home and share a recent electricity bill. A UK engineer works out an estimated system size, savings forecast, carbon reduction estimate and indicative return.

No obligation
Step 02

Home survey

Our own engineer visits to check the roof, consumer unit, cabling routes and where a battery or charger would sit.

Step 03

Design & fixed-price quote

A design for your home, covering what you want now and leaving room for anything you may add later.

Fixed price
Step 04

Installation

Our MCS-certified team installs, tests and commissions your system. We handle the DNO paperwork and building regulations notification for you.

Step 05

Handover & aftercare

You receive your MCS certificate, which you need to apply for the Smart Export Guarantee, and monitoring set up on your phone.

Find out what your home
could generate, store and save.

Share a recent electricity bill and a few details about your home. A UK engineer will work out the right combination of solar, battery, EV charging and tariff for you, with no obligation.

08. Homeowner FAQs

Questions homeowners
often ask us.

Straight answers from our UK design team.

Still have a question?0330 043 1047
How much could I save, and how quickly does it pay back?

It depends on your roof, how much electricity you use and when, and the tariff you are on. Rather than quote a general figure, your free feasibility study works out an estimated system size, savings forecast, carbon reduction estimate and indicative return from your own consumption.

Is 0% VAT still available on solar and batteries?

Yes, currently. HMRC's energy-saving materials relief means solar PV and battery storage installed in homes in Great Britain are zero-rated for VAT until 31 March 2027. This does not cover EV chargers.

Can I add a battery or EV charger later?

Yes. Every system we design leaves room for the next step, so you can start with solar and add storage, an EV charger or a smart tariff when you are ready. We also retrofit batteries to existing solar systems, including ones we did not install.

Do you work with smart tariffs such as Octopus?

Yes. We are an Octopus Energy Trusted Partner and design solar and battery systems to work with smart import and export tariffs. You switch tariff with your energy supplier yourself, and we can give you the information you need.

Do I need planning permission?

Most rooftop solar on houses is permitted development, so planning permission is not usually needed. Listed buildings, conservation areas and some flat-roof or ground-mounted systems may need consent, and we advise on this at survey.

Is my roof suitable for solar panels?

Most pitched and flat roofs can take solar. Orientation, pitch, shading, available area and the condition of the roof all affect the design, and our own engineer checks each of them at the home survey before we quote.

What is the Smart Export Guarantee?

The Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) means licensed electricity suppliers pay you for the electricity you export to the grid. Payments are based on metered export, each supplier sets its own rate, and systems up to 50 kW need MCS certification to qualify. You apply to your chosen supplier using the MCS certificate we give you.

Do I need permission from the network operator?

Smaller systems are usually connected first and then notified to your Distribution Network Operator (DNO) under G98. Larger systems need a G99 application approved by the DNO before connection. We confirm which applies at design stage and handle the paperwork.

How do I monitor my system?

We set up the monitoring app for your inverter or battery at handover, so you can see generation, storage, import and export on your phone. We show you how to use it before we leave.

Do you sell my details to third parties?

No. We are not a lead broker. Every enquiry goes only to our in-house UK team, and we never sell your details.
