Common questions about solar PV and battery storage.

How much does a solar PV system cost?

Every system is designed around the property, so the cost depends on roof size, energy use and the equipment chosen. Homes are quoted after a free site survey, and commercial projects are priced after a feasibility study of your site and energy data. Either way, you receive a clear fixed-price quotation before you commit to anything.

How long does installation take?

A typical home installation takes 1–3 days. Commercial and multi-plot projects vary with scale, and most take 1–3 weeks on site.

Are you an MCS-certified installer?

Yes. We are MCS certified for solar PV, battery storage and air source heat pumps, and hold RECC, NAPIT and OZEV approvals. An MCS-certified installation is required to claim Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) payments.

Do you cover my area?

We work across the UK from three regional offices in Coventry, Leeds and London. Give us your postcode and we will confirm coverage on the first call.

What warranty do you offer?

All equipment comes with manufacturer warranties (typically 10–25 years on panels), plus our own workmanship warranty and ongoing service support.

Can I add a battery to my existing solar panels?

Usually, yes. Battery storage can normally be added to an existing solar PV system. We check compatibility with your inverter and wiring at survey and recommend the right option.

Do I need planning permission for solar panels?

Most domestic rooftop solar is permitted development, so planning permission is not usually needed. Listed buildings, conservation areas and some flat-roof or ground-mounted systems may need consent – we advise on this at survey.

Is there VAT on solar panels and batteries?

Residential solar panels and battery storage in Great Britain currently attract 0% VAT, with the zero rate due to run until 31 March 2027. VAT is shown clearly on every quotation.

Do you maintain systems installed by others?

Yes. Our operations and maintenance team services, repairs and monitors solar PV systems of any size, including those installed by other companies.
