12 kWp solar, 27.12 kWh Sigenergy.
An integrated home solar and battery system at Braunston, Daventry. In June 2025 our in-house team engineered and installed 12 kWp of AIKO all-black solar PV on a GSE in-roof mount with Tigo optimisers, backed by a 27.12 kWh Sigenergy three-phase battery platform.

Three technologies.
One coordinated installation.
The client wanted an energy system that could grow with the household: one that would reduce reliance on the grid, improve energy security and support rising electricity demand. With energy prices still fluctuating, the aim was dependable, predictable long-term performance.
The project had to bring together a high-performance solar array, a battery storage platform and intelligent energy management in a single coordinated installation. Everything had to work together as one system.
Key considerations were the look of the roof, so the array would read as part of the architecture; generation efficiency per panel; compatibility between the AIKO, Tigo and Sigenergy technologies; and reliable monitoring and backup the client could use day to day.
AIKO all-black in-roof.
Sigenergy stack behind it.
We designed and installed an integrated system built around 18 AIKO 455 W all-black solar panels mounted on a GSE in-roof mounting system, giving the array a flush, integrated appearance within the roof plane.
Tigo optimisers on every module provide panel-level monitoring and performance management, so generation holds up under partial shading or varying orientation.
Energy storage and control are provided by a Sigenergy 12.0 kW three-phase energy controller, three 9.04 kWh battery units (27.12 kWh in total) and a Sigen Gateway: a closely integrated set-up that handles storage, load balancing, backup and monitoring from a single manufacturer, with room to add capacity later.

- Stage 01
Site assessment
Site assessment and engineering review, structural checks and shading analysis.
Week 1 - Stage 02
Design & procurement
Integrated system design signed off; AIKO, Tigo and Sigenergy equipment procured.
Weeks 2–3 - Stage 03
GSE in-roof mount
Roof tiles removed as required and the GSE in-roof framework fitted for a flush finish.
Days 1–2 on site - Stage 04
Panels, Tigo & Sigen
18 AIKO panels installed with per-panel Tigo optimisers; Sigen controller, three battery units and Gateway wired in.
Days 2–4 on site - Stage 05
Commission & handover
Electrical compliance testing, monitoring platform set up and client walkthrough.
Day 5 on site
More self-consumption.
Fewer grid imports.
The completed installation pairs renewable generation with battery storage. That means greater self-consumption of solar energy, fewer grid imports, better resilience and clear visibility of household energy use through the Sigen monitoring platform.
The three-phase controller balances the use of stored energy across the property, and the Gateway provides battery-backed protection during grid outages.
No metered generation or savings figures are recorded for this project, so none are shown.
